PURPOSE:
We
are building the Body of Christ behind the walls. Regular services are conducted
in the nearby Federal Prison, in Perryville State Prison and in the County Jails. Periodically, Louene teaches weekend seminars to the female inmates. As Auxiliary Chaplain, Pastor Walt walks the yards weekly. All
of these contacts serve to share the Gospel, encourage the struggling saints and help build a mighty army of believers, many
of whom parole to our residential program upon their release.
“With God’s anointing and mighty outpouring of His Holy Spirit, revival has broken out in the jail
and prison ministry. Reaching an average of 3,000 souls per month through our
faithful team of workers, God is snatching countless men and women right out of the pits of hell on earth and is bringing
them to a place of hope and restoration in Christ Jesus, here at Church on the Street.
Instead of a life of incarceration and hopelessness, they are given the opportunity to grow in the grace and knowledge
of our Lord and Savior. We bear with them as Christ is being formed in
them.”
